We ensure safe and reliable LNG carrier operations at the first floating LNG terminal in Germany.

LNG Terminal Wilhelmshaven GmbH (LTeW) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Uniper. We have been managing the first floating LNG terminal in Germany located in Wilhelmshaven since January 2023 for the operating company Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET), founded by the German government. Our management encompasses operational, technical, and commercial aspects. The FSRU is owned by the Norwegian shipping company Höegh and is operated by them.

Through our mandate, we strengthen security of supply in Germany on behalf of the German government. The FSRU at the first LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven will replace around 6% of Germany's gas demand in the initial phase. This is around 11% of Germany's gas imports from Russia (2021: 46 BCM according to BMWK).
